Mehdi Numa serves as the Director of Chemistry at ADAXION, where he has led the chemistry team since 2022. With over 20 years of experience in medicinal and synthetic chemistry, he has held pivotal roles at ADARx Pharmaceuticals, AviSyn Pharma, Amplyx Pharmaceuticals, and Vertex Pharmaceuticals, where he played a direct role in the discovery of the CFTR corrector Tezacaftor. His expertise in small molecule drug discovery spans diverse therapeutic areas, including oncology, pain management, cystic fibrosis, CNS disorders, anti-infective therapies, and oligonucleotide delivery. Mehdi holds a DEA degree in organic chemistry from Université René Descartes – Paris V, a Ph.D. in organic chemistry from the University of Nottingham and completed his postdoctoral research in synthetic organic chemistry at The Scripps Research Institute, in La Jolla.
